Devlin Gandy was born and raised in the Santa Monica Mountains, just north of Los Angeles, California. Growing up in the mountains left an indelible mark upon his perspective, creativity, interests and relationship to nature.
In 2014, Devlin received a National Geographic Young Explorers Grant. The grant helped support his ongoing documentation and discovery of Chumash rock art sites in Southern California.
He is a recent gradute of the University of California, Berkeley, where he received an anthropology degree with an emphasis is Native Californian studies. His current projects focus on anthropogenic landscapes, indigenous resilience in California, sources of power for infrastructure, and macro environmental shifts. He also continues to persue and document exploration, rock climbing, and mountaineering in some of the world's most beautiful places.
